Over the past three years, China-based technology manufacturer Xiaomi has made a lot of use of the 108 MP camera sensors on its various devices, including those found in the Mi 11 and Mix 4 models. According to the leaked Digital Chat Station , for the 12th generation of Xiaomi (remember, ‘Mi’ is now history) , the company will be using a triple 50MP camera cluster. That means 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide angle and 50MP telephoto cameras.
It is also among the claims that 5x periscope zoom will be used finally in the camera cluster. It is also said that the Chinese company already has a 10x periscope.
Previously, it was mentioned that South Korea-based technology giant Samsung is working on a 200 MP camera sensor, but this will probably be used by Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The company warns DCS that the 12 series is still in the design verification phase, so hardware details for the final device may differ.
Recently , ZTE from other phone manufacturers introduced its smartphone called Axon 30 Ultra with triple 64 MP camera, but the periscope above it had only 8 MP sensor (the third 64 MP camera had a 35mm lens offering minimum optical zoom) . Periscopes combined with high-resolution sensors are extremely rare. Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Ultra had only one (48MP), 50MP main and 48MP ultra-wide cameras.
The Xiaomi 12 model is also expected to feature an LTPO AMOLED display with adaptive refresh rate operating in the 1-120 Hz range.
