The YouTube app on Android and iOS platforms got a new video player that includes all the essentials in full-screen mode. In the update that looks server-side, the recommended video blocks have been removed and the necessary buttons have been added to the lower left and right corners.
At the bottom right of the progress bar, there is a “More Videos” button that will show the recommended videos in the old style, while on the left; When you play music videos, new control buttons are added in the middle of the player.
The new UI has surfaced on an Android 12 device running version 17.03.35 of the YouTube app. You may not like the videos yet, but the counter still does not appear. New controls provide far more flexibility when watching full-screen content, eliminating the need to minimize video to interact with key functions.
