Reactions to WhatsApp Messages Are Coming!

The ability to react to messages in chat with emojis has been an experience offered by applications such as Slack, Skype, Microsoft Teams for years, and now WhatsApp is trying to join the trend by adding the ability to react to messages. Social media giant Facebook-owned chat messenger will add the ability to respond to messages in iOS and Android apps in a future update, according to the WABetainfo team, who previously leaked what’s new in WhatsApp.

Besides verifying the feature, WABetaInfo also shared some details about the feature. If we believe the source, there will be an infinite number of reactions to a message and you will be able to choose any emoji from the emoji panel. However, when the number of reactions exceeds 999, the person who receives the reaction will see it as 999+. Also, everyone will be able to see who has reacted to a message individually.

The only detail we have at the moment is a screenshot showing how the feature will work. It is not yet clear when the feature will be released and on which platform it will be made available first. In any case, the reaction feature will be available first for those using the beta version of WhatsApp, and after a few days of testing, the company will gradually roll it out to the general public.
