WABetaInfo took a look at the updated version of the popular Facebook-owned online messaging app WhatsApp ‘s beta app for iOS and reported that it brings with it a number of new features. The main ones are the new sent message “ View Once ” feature that has been made available in WhatsApp Beta for iOS version 2.21.140.9 .
View Once mode is similar to Snapchat’s mode where users can post photos and videos that disappear after viewing
When the pictures you send in disappearing mode are viewed from the other side, a notification will be sent to you, but the screenshot feature will not be blocked. WhatsApp also brings a new notification design to the application on the iOS side. The in-app notification, which has been using the old iOS style for years, is changing to a more modern and compatible style with iOS 14/15 versions:
This will allow users to see more details in notifications, including stickers, GIFs, videos and images. When you expand the notification, you will also be able to see old messages and newer messages, giving you a small overview of the app. However, if you just turn on the notification or reply using the mini preview, users will be notified that you viewed the message, making it much easier to view your interactions.
This feature is currently available to WhatsApp Beta users and is expected to be available to all users in a few months.
