WhatsApp , one of Meta’s online messaging applications , is preparing to bring a number of new features to the platform, especially a feature that allows users to leave their chat groups silently without notification to all members.
Currently, when you leave a WhatsApp group chat, the app will issue a notification that all group members can see, but the company wants to remove this feature, which it believes will be safer for the user. WhatsApp officially allows you to set up a single chat group with up to 256 people, which can cause a large number of people to enter and leave the group, and posting a notification to the chat stream that any user has left the group can cause a distraction in the chat stream.
A Beta feature revealed by WABetaInfo is working on a feature that provides information about the person leaving the group so that only the group admins will inform the users. When any user leaves any group they are in, “Only you and the group admins will be notified that you left the group.” You will be greeted with a notification box that says.
More rich situations are coming!
Another innovation revealed by WABetaInfo includes rich link previews in the company’s Status updates. When you share a link in a status update, only the link (URL) is currently visible, and Rich Link Previews will display a preview of the linked website, giving users an idea of what to expect when they click the link.
Currently, all these features are available to users in the WhatsApp Beta Group, it is not yet clear when the company will roll out the new features.
