Instagram Launches “Moderator” Feature for Live Broadcasts!

One of the social media platforms owned by Meta, Instagram is finally allowing Live Creators to appoint moderators to their live broadcasts. Moderators will be able to report comments, take viewers off the air, and turn off comments for a specific viewer.

Instagram says that creators can choose a moderator by clicking the three-dot icon in the comment bar during the live broadcast they started. In the menu here, they can choose a moderator from the list of suggested accounts or use the search box to specifically assign a user.

Instagram’s Live Streaming feature became available in 2016, and with that in mind, it seems like it’s too late for the company to add moderator support for live streams. The moderator control is very important to instantly prevent inappropriate comments during the live broadcast and to alleviate the load of the live broadcast server.
