An Explanation About the 6-Hour Outage From Facebook!

In the evening around Turkey time, the social media giant Facebook had a major access problem. Access to these three major platforms, including Instagram and WhatsApp, which are affiliated with the company, could not be provided.
After 6 hours of access shortage, Facebook Engineers released their self-analysis behind this outage. Before these statements, while the interruption continued, many theories emerged and many rumors continued to grow like an avalanche on the internet.
On October 4, Facebook also made an update to the configuration of backbone routers that coordinate network traffic between data centers, and it was stated that this long catastrophic outage emerged after this major update.
This update, this interruption in network traffic, gradually affected the way data centers communicate, rendering services unusable.
“All our systems are locked!”
Facebook says the underlying cause of the outage also affected many of the internal tools and systems they use in their day-to-day operations, complicating our attempts to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue.
According to another report, most Facebook Engineers were unable to log into their server rooms and buildings because their login credentials could not be verified.
“No user’s data was stolen”
At the end of the day, Facebook said its services are now back online and are actively working to return them to normal operations. They also denied allegations that user data was compromised as a result of the downtime and apologized for the impact of the outage.
