Tesla Will Now Sell and Rent Its “Fully Self-Driving” Feature for $10K

Tesla has started offering Full Self-Driving for Tesla users selected in their beta program, and this will soon trigger an increase in the price of the package from $8,000 to $10,000. This increase was expected to happen next Monday, but for some reason it has now been postponed to Thursday, October 29, 2020, next week.

This price increase will only apply to the United States, but will (eventually) follow the price increase in other countries as the beta rolls out worldwide. However, company CEO Elon Musk also confirmed that the feature can be rented on a monthly basis. Some early videos showing the feature in action have started appearing, and one of them can be seen below:

While it’s clear that confidence in the feature is still low, it’s also clear that it’s already more capable than expected. Of course it remains to be seen if he is worth $10,000 more capable.
