Customizable Animated Emojis Coming to Android!

Google, one of the internet giant companies based in the United States, is working on the new generation emojis that can be used free of charge within the scope of its project called Noto Emoji . There are 31 new emojis (3,664 in total) to catch up with Unicode version 15.0 in the first place, all of which will be rolling out to Android soon and other Google products early next year.

The company is also transitioning to a new font format called COLRv1. This font carries vector images in it and therefore can create smaller sized font files. Twitter’s Twemoji icon set has shrunk from 9MB to 1.85MB, and vector fonts can still look sharp no matter how much you enlarge them.
COLRv1 emojis can use smooth transitions and colors can be customized to boot. Currently, colors can only be changed by the app or browser. This will make it simple for apps to add branding color to emojis and provide quick compatibility for apps/sites to configure for dark mode.
